If someone could explain this to me so that a five year old would understand, I'd really appreciate it. I have a 13' 2012 MacBook air with 10.12.1 version of Sierra, and before I had OSX 10.1 I believe, sorry if that's not a legit program. I am at my wit's end trying to figure out how to get rid of this thing. I even upgraded to OS X Sierra, and that made it disappear for a couple days, but the popup just came back today with a Christmas ad. I tried to deep clean my mac's storage to get rid of any past hints of the program, and that didn't work. After some research I found that emptying my trash can would stop the popup, and that worked fine.įast forward to the past week, and the same popup started coming up again, this time for black Friday ads. However, every day at exactly 24 hour intervals a small popup would appear on my screen, and I was so confused because I uninstalled the program. So a few months back I accidentally installed the virus Advanced Mac Cleaner, that I have since uninstalled and put in the trash.
